.45 ACP Hydroshock rounds contain an improved hollow point for better expansion and a steel penetrator for a good combination of stopping power and penetration.

The .45 ACP Hydra-Shok is a hollow-point round that originally had an armor-piercing steel penetrator inside. It is superior in every way to the standard .45 ACP FMJ. The tip's pre-notched edge enhances and controls the hollow-cavity-tipped bullet's expansion in tissue while the steel penetrator passes through cover or body armor. It deals significantly more damage to unarmored or lightly armored targets and has over twice the penetration against light cover and heavy armor alike. The rounds are also slightly lighter, making air resistance less of an issue in aiming. However, they are much rarer then standard .45ACP, and the rarest of all the pistol caliber munitions.

Trivia
- The Cyrillic script in the upper left corner of the packaging reads Poluoboloch-Broneboin'ie, which stands for "Soft-Point, Armor-Piercing".
- The English acronym on the packaging JSP-AP stands for "Jacketed Soft-Point, Armor-Piercing". Technically the "Hydroshock" is a JHP, or "Jacketed-Hollow-Point" with no armor piercing qualities whatsoever.
- The packaging lists the HK USP Compact, Colt M1911A1, and SIG-220, indicating which weapons are chambered for the ammo.
Locations
Shadow of Chernobyl
These rounds are rare, but Skinflint can sell them after eliminating their snitch and his client. Colonel Petrenko can also carry them if the player is in very good standing with Duty. They appear in some stashes and can be found in boxes on the rooftops of the Chernobyl NPP. A few boxes appear in the cabin where the insane stalker is found in the Army Warehouses, and several ones can be found in a metal box on top of a cargo container near the barrier in the same area. Additionally, most monolith enemies carry these rounds along with the armor piercing variants of other calibres.
Clear Sky
These bullets are even more rare in Clear Sky, since no trader sells them and no NPC uses them. The only way to get these rounds is from stashes, usually the ones you can buy the coordinates of.
Call of Pripyat
Some stashes include these bullets in good amounts (up to 100). Hawaiian may sell them after siding with either Freedom or Duty. In Pripyat, the military will issue 50 of these (along with 100 FMJs) if you ask for 11.43x23mm pistol ammo.
