General characteristics
Edit

BP rounds have an armor-piercing metal core. This gives it significantly better performance over standard 5.45x39mm FMJ rounds against armor. Due to its higher penetration, it can even penetrate some thicker walls and floors with little difficulty.
Usage
Edit
Used by the Akm 74/2, Akm 74/2U and the Obokan. The special Groza 5.45 uses this ammo also.
Apperances
Edit
Shadow of Chernobyl
Edit
These bullets can be found in several stashes - a large amount in a secret stash in Agroprom. Sidorovich may reward you with these bullets after doing enough jobs for him. Also, monolith enemies that use 5.45x39mm weapons will use these rounds, making them more common later in the game.
Clear Sky
Edit
These bullets are much more common in Clear Sky, being sold by several Loner traders, Mitay, and Professor Sakharov. They are used by Loners, Duty soldiers, and Military soldiers. Non-secret stashes in the Cordon contain these rounds, including one under the wrecked bridge, one in the Rookie Camp, one in the Loner base, and one in the Military outpost. Similar stashes contain these bullets in Agroprom.
Call of Pripyat
Edit
These rounds are quite common compared to prior games. Nearly any Stalker above the rank of Novice has a chance of carrying at least a few rounds, and most Veterans and Masters will carry them only. Stalkers also use these rounds more often, making them more dangerous in combat compared to Novices and other weaker ranks. Both Owl and Hawaiian sell them regardless of faction.
Trivia
Edit
- The letters BP stand for Broneboi'naya Pulya, or "Armor-Piercing Bullet". GRAU Index: 7N22.
