The Bozar is a weapon that was partially implemented and included in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky.

Characteristics[]

The Bozar is a partially finished or abandoned weapon which exists within Clear Sky's code. Code-wise it is technically a variant of the RP-74, albeit vastly different. Rather than functioning as an automatic machine gun, the Bozar operates in a semi-automatic mode similar to a shotgun, firing 10 rounds in a confined spread simultaneously; unlike other shotguns, each shot uses 10 rounds of ammunition at once. Recoil for the weapon is large as well as having a random directional element; specifically, firing the weapon may turn the player horizontally (left or right) as well as vertically. It also dampens the player's turning movement to a far greater degree than the RP-74, allows use of the iron sights, and fires the unused .223 FMJ round.

Though the Bozar uses the RP-74's icon when in inventory, in-game it appears identical to the SVDm-2 except that while held it does not have a scope. If dropped to the ground it will appear to have a scope.

The Bozar only exists in Clear Sky and is not normally found in the game. The weapon remains active in existing game code but is not carried by any stalker or available for purchase from any merchants. All text for the weapon, both name and description, are blank, displaying only the variable names used (e.g. "wpn_bozar").

Trivia[]

  • The code for this weapon is an Easter egg representing one of the weapons featured in the original Fallout games. The Bozar is a weapon found in Fallout 2 and the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Gun Runners' Arsenal, chambered for .223 ammunition and firing in a 15-Round burst (although it is chambered for the 5.56mm NATO round, functions more akin to a light machine gun with very high accuracy, 30 magazine and a scope in New Vegas). Another Fallout-universe weapon featured as an Easter egg is the .223 pistol.
