Cement factory is just a name... It stopped making cement long before the Chernobyl disaster. They disassembled what they could and started using the building to make electrical appliances.
Nitro

The Cement factory is a location in the area around Jupiter in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

Overview[]

An industrial facility located in northeastern Jupiter, connected to the Zone's railroad network by means of a small train station and a railway line. The area is comprised of a five-story factory building, two tall silos with a platform on top and the station. Underneath the station is a small tunnel network, and there is also a sewer area under the factory itself.

According to Nitro, the location was effectively a cement factory once upon a time, but has been since reconverted into an electrical appliance production facility before being abandoned at some point after the Chernobyl disaster.

Call of Pripyat[]

Nitro in Yanov station provides a quest that requires the player to gain access to the factory building and search for equipment inside. The factory building is not accessible from ground level; it can only be accessed from a hatch on the rooftop, which can be accessed through a third silo located behind the factory, which has several ladders leading the player to the rooftop. After completing the mission, stalkers may visit the area, by going to the platform at the top of the silos. Freedom stalkers are commonly encountered here, due to the factory being a spawn point for them after Nitro's mission is completed.

There is a single Burner anomaly inside the factory building, underneath a hole in the floor on the building's third floor, although the rooftop has several Electros. Curiously, despite the low number of anomalies within the factory, the area is a spawning ground for artifacts of the thermal variety, by default a Mama's Beads. Artifacts will typically spawn on the third floor near the Burner, but may be found on the ground under the factory on rarer occasions. Only one artifact may be found at the factory at a time.

The tunnels under the train station contain a number of rodents. The tunnels serve as shelter during emissions, and stalkers may also be encountered here.

Cement Factory

The Cement factory in real life

The Cement factory is based on a real-life cement factory in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. Unlike its in-game rendition, the cement factory is located in the vicinity of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
