A rare artifact – it's been several years since one was found. The artifact can locate gaps in anomaly fields, effectively acting as a compass. It is believed that it can help one traverse the most complex anomaly fields completely unharmed. However, very few know how to handle it properly.
- Call of Pripyat in-game description

The Compass is an unique artifact that appears in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

Appearances Edit

Clear SkyEdit

The Compass gives a +6 in endurance, just like the Snowflake, although without having any downside, making the artifact very effective.

The only way to obtain this artifact is from a tunnel in the Red Forest, which is held by the Renegades. Forester requires his artifact back from the Renegades as part of a job. Forester claims that this artifact was given to him by the zone itself which allowed him to traverse out of a Space Anomaly . He is also the only known person who knows how to tap the Compass' true power of navigation. Saying " itself" most likely implies that the artifact's parent anomaly is the Space Anomaly that Forester was trapped in.

Call of Pripyat Edit

Description Edit

The Compass combines the effects of a Crystal, Stone Blood, Sparkler, Battery and Stone Flower into a single +4 radiation artifact. The bonus granted by the Compass is overall poor, however considering it combines the effect of five artifacts (five slots are available to some suits after upgrades, but there will be no room left for anti-radiation artifacts) weighing 2.5kg together, while the Compass weighs only 0.5kg, it is a good combination. Generally speaking, the Compass is best paired with a suit with fair anomaly protection, as the extra protection given by a Compass is barely helpful to increase the protection of combat-oriented suits such as the PSZ-9d Duty armor.

There are only two available Compasses in-game, available from Noah. The player will not be able to ask for a Compass before they get the Compass mission from Beard. The player will have to wait a few in-game hours before being able to ask Noah for the second Compass. The player can give one of the two to either Beard or Sultan as part of the Tempting Business mission, and keep the second for themselves.

It is worth noting that asking Noah for a compass after getting the second one will result in him becoming hostile to the player until they get far away enough from him. This can be repeated every time the player visits Noah.
