The Mercenary checkpoint, also known as the Far fortification area, is a location in the Army Warehouses in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky.

Overview[]

A checkpoint located in the northwestern corner of the Army Warehouses, which has been set up in the remains of an old bus stop.

Appearances[]

Shadow of Chernobyl[]

In Shadow of Chernobyl, the checkpoint is home to four experienced mercenaries. If they are killed, they will be replaced by higher ranking mercs, sometimes wearing an Exoskeleton. The mercenaries may also patrol the road to the north.

Clear Sky[]

In Clear Sky, the location is known as the Far fortification area and is home to the Freedom faction. The checkpoint is first visited when the player enters the Army Warehouses for the first time on Forester's instructions. There, the local commander, Raven, debriefs the player about the situation in the area and directs the player towards Hog's squad in the Bloodsucker village. Raven's squad will typically leave for the Red Forest after this conversation occurs, leaving the checkpoint undefended.

Unlike in Shadow of Chernobyl, the back of the checkpoint is accessible, as it leads to the Red Forest.

Loot[]

Shadow of Chernobyl[]

The unique TRs 301, the Sniper TRs 301, is found in this location, resting against a bench in the bus stop. This weapon is the target of a mission, Find the enhanced rifle, given by Voronin. Near the rifle is a metal box containing 60 rounds of 5.56x45mm AP ammunition.
