We have no specific objective in mind. We're scientific scouts, if you will. We are seeking to identify correlations in certain phenomena, develop theories and prove or disprove them. Some of our theories have no practical purpose as we know it.

Professor Ozersky is a member of the scientist expedition in Yanov who appears in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

Background[]

Ozersky is Hermann's assistant and overall second-in-command. He relies highly on his intuition that rarely fails him, such as firmly believing in the existence of the fabled Oasis and is very defensive about his beliefs, sometimes making him tactless when being questioned about them, but is always quick to make amends when he does.

Compared to his superior, Ozersky is by far more relaxed than Hermann and influential to him.

Call of Pripyat[]

Ozersky is found alongside Hermann inside the mobile lab in Yanov. Unlike Hermann, the player's interactions with him are more limited. He cannot trade with the player, but he provides a number of side missions.

Related missions[]

Oasis: Ozersky asks the player to find the location of the Oasis and bring proof of its existence.
Hypothesis: Ozersky hires the player to plant a special scanner in an anomaly to test its effect on the behavior of mutants.
Anomalous Plant: If the player wants to recruit Lieutenant Sokolov for the trip to Pripyat, the player must bring back a plant from the Anomalous Grove to Ozersky so that he can convince Hermann to give a protective outfit to Sokolov.

The Ecologists have two ending slides depending on how many missions the player completes for them.

If the achievement Research Assistant has been obtained, the ending slide reveals that the expedition's data led to the development of groundbreaking technology, prompting the Ukrainian Ministry of Education to allocate additional funding for researching in the Zone.
If the achievement Research Assistant was not obtained, the expedition is disbanded and Hermann and Ozersky return to the outside of the Zone to engage in unrelated work.
