7.62x54mm BP is a type of sniper ammunition featured in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky.

General Characteristics[]

Much like the 7.62x54mm 7N14 cartridge, BP rounds generate a small 'explosion' on impact. The BP rounds are found in boxes of 10 rounds in Shadow of Chernobyl and boxes of 30 rounds in Clear Sky.

The ammunition does not appear in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, but its menu icon is still in the game files.

Weapon Compatibility[]

Appearances[]

Shadow of Chernobyl[]

A round with an armor-piercing bullet for the SVDm 2 and the SVUmk2 sniper rifles.
― In-game description

In Shadow of Chernobyl, BP rounds are by far the rarest sniper rounds. They have much better penetration capabilities and more stopping power than 7N14 rounds, but have less effective range and accuracy. In addition, they only accelerate weapon degradation by 5%, instead of 25% for the 7N14 ammunition.

Locations[]

Build 1844 7

Sixty of these bullets can be found in a secret stash - Under the trap door - in Agroprom; its coordinates can be obtained from dead Loners or soldiers in the area. Several more boxes can be randomly spawned in boxes in Yantar, Lab X-16, inside of the Sarcophagus, in the Monolith Control Center, and on the rooftops of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.

Clear Sky[]

Cheap 7.62-caliber machine gun round. Its design makes it unfit for use in sniper rifles, so it is used only with the RP-74 machine gun.

BP ammunition found in the Duty base

7.62x54mm BP was partially included in Clear Sky, suggesting it was meant to be implemented before being cut from the final release of the game. While the ammunition features its own box model, it shares its name and description with the 7.62x54mm PP rounds. The ammunition is not compatible with any weapon, and thus serves no purpose whatsoever. According to game files, it is identical to the 7.62x54mm 7N1 ammunition in terms of performance, albeit with a slightly higher price tag.

Locations[]

Only two boxes of this ammunition can be found in the game; they can be acquired by jumping onto Major Zvyagintsev's desk in the Duty base in the Agroprom, and grabbing them from the shelf on the left (this might require shooting to move the boxes).

Trivia[]

  • The Cyrillic script on the upper right corner of the box spells out Broneboi'niy , or "Armor-Piercing". It is followed underneath by the Latinate script letters AP, which stands for "Armor-Piercing" in English. The letters BP stand for Broneboi'niy Pulya, or "Armor-Piercing Bullet".
  • The Cyrillic letter code BTZ on the upper left corner of the box stands for Broneboi'niy Trasseruyushchey Zazhigatelniy, or "Armor-Piercing Tracer - Incendiary".
  • The Cyrillic letters on the bottom edge read SVD SVU-AS PKM, indicating the weapons that chamber the cartridge. Interestingly, the RP-74 is not able to use these rounds in Clear Sky.
