Leave me alone! Go away!
― Stetsenko shortly before his death

Lieutenant Stetsenko is a character that appears in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

Background[]

Stetsenko is one of the soldiers involved in Operation Fairway and was assigned to either Stingray 3, both of which crashed in Zaton. After surviving the crash, he and the other survivors were taken to Pripyat by a stalker named Noah. On the way there, he was injured in a gravitational anomaly which caused him to lose a couple of toes, according to Kovalsky.

Appearances[]

Call of Pripyat[]

Stetsenko is one of the military survivors encountered in Pripyat. He has yet to recover from his injuries and is seen inside the Laundromat, laying on a bed behind Lieutenant Rogovets, the squad's field medic. He cannot be interacted with.

He recovers from his injuries while the player visits Zaton to learn more about the Gauss rifle, but goes missing in the vicinity of the Grocery Store. On Kovalsky's request, the player goes to the store and discovers Stetsenko apparently suffering from a nervous breakdown, firing around aimlessly with his weapon before killing himself.

Shortly afterwards, a controller emerges from the backroom. After the mutant is killed by the player, Kovalsky deduces that Stetsenko's breakdown was due to the controller's mind control abilities.
