| “ | An upgraded version of a regular exoskeleton. The use of lighter materials allowed the designers to reduce the suit's weight and boost its durability. - Clear Sky ingame description | ” |
The Freedom Exoskeleton is a unique variant of the Exoskeleton featured in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat. It is wearable by player only in Clear Sky.

Characteristics
Edit
This is a unique type of Exoskeleton with the weight lowered by ten kilograms and durability increased through the replacement of some metal parts with carbon fiber. It provides exceptional firearm and rupture protection like the normal Exoskeleton, additionally having its weight significantly reduced. However, the normal Exoskeleton allows for increased carry weight (+20 kgs over Freedom variant) and provides slightly better anomaly protection stats (+3 points across the board) when fully upgraded for combat. If compared in terms of combat protection to the 12 kg Skat-9 military armoured suit, the Freedom Exoskeleton is superior by far. However, it is arguable if it's the best overall suit for combat protection and mobility in Clear Sky as running is still not possible. The technique is widespread at the time of Call of Pripyat, as every Exoskeleton can be modified to weight 10 kg less.
Acquisition
Edit
This modified exoskeleton can be acquired as a reward by finishing the Freedom quest line which requires the player to destroy the Duty base in the Faction Wars.
