I have a feeling I need to ditch this place ASAP. Thing is, I don't have a shooter...give me something, would you?
― Hound

Hound (ru. Пёс) is a neutral stalker appearing in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky.

Background[]

Rookie stalker, he is Wolf's young brother.

Appearances[]

Clear Sky[]

At the beginning of the game, Hound was captured by a small squadron of Bandits that held him to ransom for an unspecified amount of money.

Wolf explains that there is no way his boys could come up with the money on time and requests that Scar rescue him from them. When Hound is rescued, he will request either a pistol, shotgun or assault rifle as a weapon, before returning to the Rookie Village. The player will have to kill any Mutants (Blind Dogs or Boars) that Hound might run into, on his way back to the village.

Wolf will give the player a reward of 1500 RU for saving Hound and escorting him safely to the village.

Related missions[]

  • Rescue Wolf's brother from captivity: Wolf asks the player to rescue his brother from the Bandits.

Bugs and flaws[]

  • If the player gives Hound an unloaded weapon, he will scream and run around Cordon or run away to Dark Valley. It will be impossible to catch up with him. The same will happen if Hound runs out of ammo.
  • While traveling towards the Rookie Village Hound dies by script as soon as Scar moves a certain distance away from him.
  • Sometimes Freedom, who are active in Faction Wars earlier than neutrals, can occupy the point where Hound is held by Bandits. Then the bandits will not appear, and the stalker can be safely taken to the village.

Trivia[]

  • When the player chooses to give him a weapon, he will always pick a weapon at random from the selected category, meaning that he may take a weapon that is valuable for the player. To circumvent this, the player can drop any weapon they do not want Hound to get, then talk to him and give him any weapon before picking the weapon back up.
  • Hound won't go to the Rookie Village without a gun.
