The Officer is a State Security Service commander that appears only in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.
Overview
Army Officers play a large role for the Ukrainian Army in the Zone. They are in charge of all the operational targets in the Zone. However, because of their low experience in the Zone, they sometimes fail the task of safety and lead their squads either to death or unusual locations. Officers do not leave their outpost, they let the Expert ranked soldiers lead the raids for any opertational targets in the Zone while Officers still remain in the outpost or at the base.
Shadow of Chernobyl
During the events of Shadow of Chernobyl, a Military officer is first seen under a bridge, known as Major Kuznetsov. However there are 3 more Officers in the Zone, one is located at the HQ entrance to Cordon and another Officer is holding the position in the Agroprom Research Institute where he leads the operational task to eliminate the stalker base at Agroprom railroad station. The third one is leading the attack on Chernobyl NPP, waiting at a provisional army base camp with an armed and manned BMT in the southern west of the plant. This officer (rank: captain) is equipped with a VLA assault rifle.
Officer Armour
Very low protection against any impact in the Zone, this armour was mainly designed for a lighter touch and to be able to move faster without carrying any amount of high weight such as gear or loot. This armor is mostly made for Commanders in the Zone.
Notes
- Unfortunately Officer armour cannot be bought or either found in any game in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.
- If an Officer is killed, he will never respawn in the Zone again, however, Military tasks will continue on.
