Background
Edit
With the deactivation of the Brainscorcher, and the eradication of the Military Stalker unit at the end of Shadow of Chernobyl, a plan was devised to initiate a full-scale invasion of the Chernobyl NPP to take it by force from the local Monolith. Using maps of the anomaly fields taken by the exterminated unit, a vanguard consisting of five state of the art helicopters, with a crew of elite Spetsnaz and Military Stalkers was gathered to establish a foothold within Chernobyl before a full-scale attack force.
At the onset of the game, the helicopters have all failed to return to base. Major Degtyarev is assigned to investigate, starting the game.
