Need goods? Information?.. Or maybe you want to sell information?
― Owl
Owl (Rus. Сыч; otherwise known as Sych) is a trader appearing in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.
Background[]
Owl is the trader and information dealer aboard the Skadovsk in Zaton. He is known to favor Sultan during conflicts between him and Beard. He is described by local Loners and Bandits as a fairly unpleasant person who has a reputation of buying anything and not asking many questions.
Appearances[]
Call of Pripyat[]
Owl can be found at the upper level of the Skadovsk, just in front of Tremor's office. He has the largest selection of goods out of any trader in the ship, as he sells a variety of armors, weapons and ammunition. Initially, he does not deal with medical supplies, but starts buying and selling them after completion of the mission Missing Stalkers. His wares and discounts depend on the player's stand in the Bandits/Loners faction war in Zaton.
Owl can provide the player with several missions. Due to him being an information dealer, the player can also pay him for various information about their active missions, and he will also buy many documents and PDAs from the player. Selling at least 10 PDAs or documents to Owl will earn the player the achievement Trafficker of Information.

The player can buy the following information from Owl. It is only possible to buy information if the associated mission has been taken.

Stingray 2 | Stingray 2: investigate the crash site | 200 | "They also call that place the Iron Forest. The chopper crashed slap bang into the power pylons. None of the jarheads survived... Even if they did, they'd never make it out alive. Those poltergeists just love chasing people into electric anomalies... Those scumbags respond to the tiniest movement, as I’m sure you know." |
Stingray 3 | Stingray 3: investigate the crash site | 200 | "So, this chopper landed right next to a snork den. As far as I know, the military got out of there, not all but most of them. Wiped out the mutants and climbed down. By the way, if you're heading up there, I can offer you a nice shotgun and some ammo to help deal with those beasts. Only thing is, no one except Noah, that loopy bastard, knows how to climb up to that plateau." This starts the mission Getting to the Plateau. |
Stingray 5 | Stingray 5: investigate the crash site | 200 | "Listen... After the chopper came down, five army guys were spotted there. Apparently they even managed to climb out of that swamp successfully... Reaching that place is no big deal, just stay away from water and keep to steady ground. And you'll need chemical protection, too. So, if you're planning on heading out there, buy some antidotes from the medic." |
Poison gas | Bloodsucker Lair | 2000 | "Listen. Once there was a military motor column here transporting gas which didn't make it. No one knows what happened, but the gas tanks should still be there. All clear? Yeah, there might be some documents there, too. If you find them, bring them to me and you just might recoup your investment." This updates the mission with the location of the convoy. |
Magpie | In Search of Magpie | 1000 | "You won't find him here, but a little bird told me he might be around Jupiter, maybe near Yanov station. Keep in mind that whoever made a mess of things in one place doesn't keep the same name when he leaves for another place... He's probably changed his guise too, figuring people will be looking for him among stalkers." |
Snag | Reputation | 1000 | "Snag is a greedy fool 'cause he's got in with dangerous people. He's burned his bridges, so you should look for him around Jupiter. He's got no other place to go. You ain't the only one looking for him." |
