The subject of this article appears in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

My name is Pilot for a reason. I only use safe routes. I don't have what it takes to collect artifacts or fight bandits, so... Everyone should use their talents and let others benefit from them. Every talent has its price, of course.
― Pilot

Pilot (Lotsman / Лоцман) is a guide who appears only in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

Background[]

Pilot is one of the Loners established in the areas of the center of the Zone following the shutdown of the Brain Scorcher. He claims that he isn't good at fighting or collecting artifacts, but good at finding and making use of safe routes between the areas of the Zone, hence his name.

Appearances[]

Call of Pripyat[]

Pilot is initially found at the bar in the Skadovsk in Zaton, although he will also appear at the bar in Yanov Station, depending on the player's current location. He is the only character in the game that enables the player to travel between Zaton and Yanov, as the ability to directly travel between areas has been removed from the game. He is initially only able to guide the player from Zaton to Yanov and vice versa, although after completing the first part of Unidentified weapon, he becomes able to guide the player from Zaton to Pripyat. He charges 3000 RU for a trip on the Zaton-Yanov route, and 6000 RU for a trip from Zaton to Pripyat.

After the completion of the main storyline, he is one of the two characters in the game (the other being Garry) who can escort the player out of the Zone, which triggers the ending sequence.

Related missions[]

  • Area Maps: Pilot is the only possible recipient for the navigational data found in the Stingray 2 wreckage. After completing this mission, he will permanently give the player a 2000 RU discount on each of his trips.
  • Road to Pripyat: Pilot must be talked to regarding a possible route to Pripyat. He will simply point the player towards the Jupiter factory for more information.
