Lt Podorozhny was a Military Stalker taking part in Operation Fairway during the events of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

Background

As a Stalker contracted to the Military, he is likely a long time veteran of the zone. He often cooperates with Lt Scaley.

Lt Podorozhny is one of the few surviving members of Operation Fairway when the player reaches Pripyat. Along with his fellow Military Stalker Lt. Scaley, the two act as sentries inside the Laundromat, watching the doors. Their role is minimal at best.
If Vano did not make it out of the Pripyat Underground, Podorozhny will take his place in the Shattering the Monolith quest. Despite wearing the same armor as his partner Scaley, he's not quite as durable and isn't as effective - he will likely die if the player leaves him to his own devices.
Afterwards, him and his partner Scaley are sent to destroy a psi-emitter stationed inside the Pripyat Kindergarten. Podorozhny submits to the psi-emitter's influence first, and in the ensuing fight Scaley kills him before he succumbs to his own wounds.
Notes Edit
- If Podorozhny dies during the Shattering the Monolith quest, his corpse will 'warp' to its final resting place near the Kindergarten once that quest has begun.
- Podorozhny is more tolerant then Lt. Scaley - he can sometimes be hit once or twice before he becomes hostile, though like other NPCs he may become hostile if he catches the player sneaking up on him with a knife.
