Zombified stalker (SoC, CS)

Good, the situation is becoming clearer. As I expected this Brain Scorcher is man-made. It’s a Kaymanov experimental emitter and its components were made exactly in X18. These documents refer to lab X16 where they sent some components. According to this, X16 is located in the production complex area by Lake Yantar. The scientists have set up a mobile lab around there so maybe they can help.

The Production complex is a location featured both in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Sky.

OverviewEdit

The area was considered an ideal location to construct a hidden laboratory which was masked by the factory. This became Lab X-16 which was originally designed to be a sister-lab for Lab X-18. It is not known when the X-16 lab was constructed underneath the factory.

After breakthroughs in X-18, a prototype Kaymanov emitter was set up in the lab, powered by a massive artificially grown brain, with the antenna hidden inside one of the factory buildings.

HistoryEdit

After The Zone was born in 2006, the complex fell into disrepair and was abandoned, but the emitter was still active. This has proven disastrous, as many stalkers, lured by the prospect of scavenging an intact factory, fell prey to the emitter's disastrous influence and turned into Zombified Stalkers, almost feral creatures extremely aggressive towards anyone but their own.

As such, the only inhabitants are the aforementioned husks and Snorks that roam around the complex. Scattered corpses, either fresh, decayed, or even missing body parts, are present in nearly every inch of the area. There is even a pile of Spetsnaz bodies being used as fuel for fire.

LayoutEdit

The X-16 facility is located in a building complex to the north-west of the area. The whole area is filled with Zombified Stalkers and Snorks making it very dangerous. Later, after the psi-emission is disabled, even a Controller may appear there. The unique Healing Beril outfit can be found on a dead soldier in the complex. Entering the facility without obtaining the Psi-helmet from the scientists first is highly discouraged because the player keeps being harmed by active psy-field and the attacking zombies might kill the player in this condition easily.

TriviaEdit

  • Without the Psi-helmet the vision gets very bright, which additionally hinders survival.
