|Call of Pripyat|
As a Stalker contracted to the Military, he is likely a long time veteran of the zone.
Call of Pripyat Edit
Lt. Scaley is one of the few surviving members of Operation Fairway when the player reaches Pripyat. Along with his fellow Military Stalker Lt Podorozhny, the two act as sentries inside the Laundromat, watching the doors. Their role is minimal at best.
If Lt Sokolov did not make it out of the Pripyat Underground, Scaley will take his place in the Shattering the Monolith quest. He is a much better shot and far more durable then Sokolov, but he can still die if the player isn't careful.
Afterwards, him and his partner Podorozhny are sent to destroy a psi-emitter stationed inside the Pripyat Kindergarten. Podorozhny submits to the psi-emitter's influence first, and in the ensuing fight Scaley kills him before he succumbs to his own wounds.
- If Scaley dies during the Shattering the Monolith quest, his corpse will 'warp' to its final resting place near the Kindergarten once that quest has begun - occasionally it may create another corpse, leaving two Lt. Scaleys in the level.
- Scaley may become hostile if the player fires in his general direction - hitting him isn't even necessary. He is also likely the toughest character in the entire game barring the Monolith Fighter, able to take 2 9x39mm PAB-9 rounds to the head.
