Snitch (Ru. Осведомитель) is an experienced Loner who appears in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.

Snitch is found inside the 100 Rads bar. He earns money by selling information to other stalkers. The Marked One meets him in the 100 Rads Bar and can pay him for small pieces of information. The information offered:

Rekated missions[]

Kill master stalker - an assassination contract on Master. He will reward Marked One with a Mama's Beads artifact for completing this mission.

He has a number of unused dialogue lines that can be found in the game's string tables:

  • The player was initially able to help Wolfhound (who was a member of Freedom in pre-release builds) eliminate Kruglov and steal his data, after what Snitch would reward the player with 1000 RU and a grenade launcher[non-game. 2]. Interestingly, he has a GP-25 Koster grenade launcher in his inventory, which is likely a leftover from this interaction.
  • After completing this mission, Snitch can reveal that he's sympathetic towards Freedom[non-game. 3] but refuses to disclose any more, saying that he's officially neutral[non-game. 4]. He also claims Duty is controlled by the Ukrainian government and is meant to pave the way for a military operation[non-game. 5].

Trivia[]

  • Snitch will always say his two lines, even after the player has bought all his information.
  • Although the game describes him as a Loner, he wears a bandit's trench coat. Within the game files (such as task_manager.ltx) he is referred to as "mercenary".
  • He has a GP-25 Koster grenade launcher and a box of 5.56x45mm SS109 ammunition in his inventory, although the player is unable to buy either item from him.
