Would you look at that. Not much of a difference between 2nd and 3rd gen NVG in Call of Pripyat. Long live the Tactical Helmet and its thermal imaging! Boredgunner 23:31, February 22, 2010 (UTC)

Most important difference is that you can see Svarog/Veles display with 3rd gen on. It's also much easier on the eyes and more effective in low-light situations like dawn or dusk. Cement Plant 18:31, March 9, 2010 (UTC)

New CoP NV comparison shots[]

I want to add these to the article, but I'm not sure how. Should I add them to the current gallery? Replace the old ones? Don't add them at all?

Lordmick134 17:07, March 9, 2010 (UTC)

I'll put it in the gallery, replacing my CoP comparison (mine is only second gen and third gen, but at 1920 x 1080). Boredgunner 20:25, March 9, 2010 (UTC)

Those show the difference a bit better. Only real difference with 3rd-gen is that it's more detailed with low light ranges - you can safely use them during the morning and evening and still see things clearly. It has no real impact on actual night-time vision, which is a shame. LonerDeacon 20:55, March 9, 2010 (UTC)

Uh.. why do we see three diferent types of green NV in CoP and two seperate types in SHoC? it's illogical, really. And are there also neutral monolithians in Clear Sky?

..........How are comparisons illogical exactly?

No there are no neutral Monolithians in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky. Boredgunner 00:18, October 14, 2010 (UTC)

Equipment with Night Vision[]

Could someone please add where to get equipment with night vision? Without that, this page is pretty useless.

I can add a few, but there aren't many. Night vision is typically a purchased upgrade, or in SoC, it is included with many armors. Boredgunner (talk) 17:22, October 31, 2012 (UTC)

I've added a list of which armors have which type of NVG in SoC, but, as Boredgunner said, in CS and CoP NVG is mostly only an upgrade to either suit or helmet. Pangia (talk) 20:14, October 31, 2012 (UTC)

Noise[]

The NV gear makes a noticeable whining noise when it's turned on. I've noticed that the enemy sometimes reacts to this, when you turn it on - is it a bug, or deliberate? 83.216.137.104 23:30, December 8, 2014 (UTC)

It's probably intentional as it's defined with individual .ogg file comment if NPCs should react for in-game sounds. Look for „S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Sound Attribute Viewer and Tweaker” or simply SAVandT in Google. Pangia (talk) 15:31, December 9, 2014 (UTC)
