The UDA-14a universal anomaly detector is a more advanced detector that was supposed to be available to the player in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.
Overview[]
This yellow, boxy item is, as the name suggests, a universal detector. It requires four batteries to work, but the return is more than adequate. The UDA-14a displays anomalies on the built-in screen, complete with information on their intensity, size, and height. As usual, it doesn't work during a blowout.
The device also appears in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, although as a NPC-only item. It is used by Topol and his team to take measurements in anomalies during the mission Anomaly research.
Trivia[]
- The body of this detector is based on a Siemens EPD-1 dosimeter.
