The Yubileiny Service Center is a former services center in Pripyat, located at Lenin's Prospekt 13. It is featured in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

Background

A service center before the 1986 catastrophe, the Yubileiny center was adopted by The Group and used as cover for the central Lab X-8. After the catastrophe in 2006, it was abandoned, but soon found new owners, as the Monolith used it as a stronghold.

Appearances

Call of Pripyat

The Yubileiny Service Center appears as a location for a central quest that requires the player to recover documentation from Lab X-8 to determine if the Gauss gun used by Monolithians is somehow connected to the failure of Operation Fairway.

The first time the player goes there, the building's floors are filled with Zombified Stalkers and well-armed Monolith experts. The player is required to go to the top floor to turn on the generator, in order to use the elevator to access Lab X-8.

Afterwards, randomly-spawned Zombified Stalkers, Loners and Mercenaries will populate the building. Mutants such as Rodents, Pseudodogs and Bloodsuckers often spawn around.

The rooftop is a non-radioactive anomaly filled with Electro anomalies. Artifacts such as a Snowflake are likely to spawn there.

Tactics

The way to the generator is a large gunfight between no less than 20 Monolithians and Zombified Stalkers spread on the four floors.

The first floors aren't much difficult as Zombified Stalkers aren't much bothering and are easy to dispose of. The challenge starts at the second floor, where the first Monolithians spawn. While themselves aren't such a problem, the issue is that the building is filled with collapsed staircases and locked grates, which forces the player to make various detours. Most notably, the locked grates allow the Monolithians to shoot the player while they navigate the building. In this situation, a Vintar BC is a weapon of choice to snipe the Monolithians from distance.

The goal is the generator located in the fifth floor, above the shaft. Going there requires detours using broken walls, and switching staircases (there are four staircases, but none of them are entirely undamaged). After activating the generator, it is possible to drop through the hole and fall in the shaft: doing so will deal damage, but sufficient armor will not make it lethal. In addition, it is possible to use the shaft from the first floor to go to the fourth floor without having to fight the Monolithians, which is much useful if the player isn't prepared to fight dozens of experts. The player will still have to fight the experts located in the fourth floor, but it'll avoid two floors full of enemies. After activating the generator, simply drop in the shaft and let the Monolithians alone, as they won't bother you since they won't move out of their designated floors.

Trivia

  • Unlike most of the buildings in the map, the Service Center is fictional; in real life, another Kindergarten stands where it would be.
    • The building is modelled after another building located in the northern part of the city.
